Privacy policy
The short version: Ring Bandit has no accounts and no analytics, and we collect no personal data ourselves. Your game progress stays on your device. The game is free and shows ads from Google AdMob; you control ad tracking through Apple's tracking prompt, and an optional Remove Ads purchase turns ads off.
This policy explains how the Ring Bandit app for iPhone and iPad (the "app") and the website at ringbandit.com (the "website") handle information. "We", "us" and "our" mean the maker of Ring Bandit. Contact us at [email protected].
Information the app collects
Ring Bandit itself never asks for your name, email, location, contacts, photos or any other personal information, and it does not use your camera, microphone or location. The app shows ads, provided by Google AdMob; see "Analytics, tracking and advertising" below for the data Google collects to show them.
Information stored on your device
To remember your game, the app saves the following only in its own storage on your device:
| Saved on device | Current level, gold ring balance, hints and power-ups, which vaults you've cracked and their stars, the sound setting, and whether you've seen the tutorial. |
|---|---|
| Sent to us | Nothing. |
| How to delete it | Delete the app. This permanently removes all of its saved data. |
If you use iCloud or device backups, Apple may include the app's saved data in your backup under Apple's own privacy policy. We have no access to it.
Analytics, tracking and advertising
Ring Bandit is free to play and shows full-screen ads between vaults, from level 10 onward. These ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect: device identifiers (including the advertising identifier, only if you allow tracking), IP address and an approximate location derived from it, information about your device, and how you interact with ads. We do not use analytics and do not collect this data ourselves.
When you first reach level 10, the app asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", Google does not receive your advertising identifier and ads are not personalised using data from other companies' apps and websites. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, a Google consent form asks for your choices before ads are personalised. You can change these at any time in the game's Settings > Privacy Choices.
Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences. How Google uses information from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Purchases
Gold rings, hints and power-ups are earned and spent inside the game. The app also offers one optional real-money purchase, Remove Ads, which turns off ads and adds a bonus pack of gold rings and power-ups. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details or Apple ID. Whether you own Remove Ads is stored on your device and checked with the App Store so it can be restored.
Haptics and sound
The app uses your device's speaker and vibration (haptics) for game effects. These need no permissions and collect no data.
The website
This website is a set of static pages. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers, and it loads no fonts or scripts from other companies. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for a short time, for security and to keep the site running.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your email, and we delete support emails once they're no longer needed.
Children
Ring Bandit is suitable for all ages. The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and ads are limited to general-audience content.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU, or the CCPA in California), you have rights to access, correct or delete personal data about you. We hold no personal data about you on our side. Ad-related data is collected and processed by Google as described above; you can manage it with the tracking setting, the in-game Privacy Choices (EU/UK/Switzerland) and Google's own privacy controls, and you can contact us with any request. You can delete the app's on-device data at any time by deleting the app. For anything else, email [email protected].
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes, such as adding advertising, will be published here before they take effect in the app.
